Pre-K3 & Pre-K 4 – Valerie Burns (1998)
A.A., Early Childhood Education, Essex Community College - Teaching preschool, since 2005. Val has been married for 31 years and has two grown children who both graduated from RCCS. One of Valerie’s passions is working with young children. Her road to teaching involved returning to school for her certification while working in various positions, including working for another Christian preschool and raising two children. In her spare time, Valerie enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, and researching family genealogy.
Kindergarten – Claire Hogan (2004)
B.S., Elementary Education, Honors, Loyola College - Claire's experience includes ten years of teaching 4th grade, the MD Writing Project, several post-graduate courses, and training in the Orton-Gillingham methodology. Claire began teaching Pre-K4 at RCCS when her three daughters were in 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades. She now teaches the Kindergarten and Extended Day program. In her free time, Claire enjoys family vacations at the beach.
Kindergarten Aide – Tina Ferreira (2011)
A.A., Early Childhood Education, Anne Arundel Community College, B.S., Business Management, University of Baltimore, M.B.A. Business Management, University of Baltimore - Tina is married with three children. Tina enjoys camping with her family and supporting her husband and children in their extensive sports and adventures (dirt bike racing, football, baseball, lax, volleyball, karate, softball, soccer, basketball, swimming).
1st Grade – Donna Wrightson (2011)
B.S., Early Childhood Education, Towson University - Donna has over 20 years of experience teaching early childhood. Donna is married and has 3 sons. In her free time, Donna enjoys gardening and decorating.
3rd Grade – Diane Fellner (2010)
B.S., Business Education, University of Maryland, M.Ed in Early Childhood, Towson. Diane has been married for 27 years and has three daughters. Their two eldest daughters graduated from RCCS and are now attending University of Maryland and Towson University. Diane loves gardening, especially weeding!? She also enjoys a good laugh and light comedies.
4th Grade – Kathy Jaggers (2013)
M.Ed in Special Education, Trenton State College, B.A., Music, Michigan State - The Fall of 2014 begins Mrs. Jaggers 36th year of teaching. She also has experience teaching ESOL. Kathy has been married for 30 years and has one son, George, who graduated from RCCS in 2008 and now teaches Humanities. Kathy enjoys Civil War reenacting.
5th grade - Meredith Echternach - (2015)
B.S. In Corporate Communications from the University of Baltimore. M.A. In Elementary Education from Towson University. Certified in Elementary, Early Childhood, and Special Education with the state of Maryland. Meredith's background includes teaching both 3rd and 5th within a Christian school setting. She has also been a long term substitute in the HCPS. During that time, she had the opportunity to work in each elementary grade level (PreK-5) and in Special Education.
6th Grade & Curriculum Development - Heather Walter - (2008)
B.A., English, Mars Hill College, B.S., Business Administration, Mars Hill College, M.A., Teaching Arts, College of Notre Dame - Heather has taught many ages and in many settings during her nineteen years of teaching, but she especially enjoys the middle school years. She has taught high school and middle school in Harford County Public Schools as well as English at the University of Kiev’s Pedagogical Institute in Kiev, Ukraine. Her passions include the written word and geography. Since 2008, Mrs. Walter has taught seventh grade Humanities and Bible while heading the Humanities Department for sixth through twelfth grades at Redeemer. She is currently teaching 6th grade Humanities as well developing new school curriculum.
Music – Lauren Shaver (1996)
B.S. & M.S., Music Education, Towson University - Lauren has taught music for grades K-12 since the school began and taught previously in Baltimore County. She is one of the founding Board members for the school, serving on the Board for 11 years. Mrs. Shaver also teaches private voice and piano lessons. Lauren is married and enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, Chloe, and horse, Sabra. She also has a private pilot rating and an open water diving certificate.
Art – Gwen Cicone (1998)
B.F.A., Painting, Syracuse University, M.A., Teaching, Montclair State University - Gwen is married and has five children, two boys and three girls, who either currently attend or have graduated from Redeemer. She is involved in choir at her church, teaches Sunday school and vacation bible school and is involved in the women’s ministry. She took up running a few years ago and particularly loves running cross country trails. In her free time, she loves to create in both the kitchen and the art studio.
Physical Education and Athletic Director - Kristin Delphi (2014)
B.S., Towson University - Through volunteer work and parent participation, Kristin has been involved with Redeemer for the past 10 years. Specifically, using her 30 years of experience in fitness and wellness, Kristin ran a sports conditioning class at the school for the past six years. Kristin joined the RCCS staff in 2014 as the Physical Education teacher. Kristin's philosophy that a sound body and sound mind complement each other, is a driving force on her feelings towards physical education. Kristin, along with her husband Chris, have three children who all have attended or attend Redeemer. Kristin is a member of the Bel Air Community Band.
Resource Specialist - Lisa Hoyt - (2016)
B.S. Elementary Education, Towson University, M.Ed. Education, Towson University. Lisa has been married for 25 years and has two sons who are currently in college. She loves dogs and has rescued two adorable mutts. She serves in the children's ministry at her church.
